Look at ourselves

We must look at ourselves over and over again in order to learn to love,
to discover what has kept our hearts closed,
and what it means to allow our hearts to open.

Knowing yourself

You are your own teacher.

Looking for teachers can’t solve your own doubts.
Investigate yourself to find the truth – inside, not outside.
Knowing yourself is most important.

Ajahn Chah

Be beautiful

To be beautiful means to be yourself.

You don’t need to be accepted by others.
You need to accept yourself.

Thich Nhat Hanh

You are not me

One day Chuang-tzu and a friend
were walking along a riverbank.

“How delightfully the fishes are
enjoying themselves in the water!”
Chuang-tzu exclaimed.

“You are not a fish,” his friend said.
“How do you know whether or not
the fishes are enjoying themselves?”

“You are not me,” Chuang-tzu said.
“How do you know that I do not know
that the fishes are enjoying themselves?”

The entire earth is medicine.

What is the self?

What is the mind?
It is a phenomenon that is not body,
not substantial,
has no form,
no shape,
no color,

but, like a mirror, can clearly reflect objects.”

Thubten Zopa Rinpoche
